San Francisco Mayor London Breed to Speak at Commonwealth Club World Affairs
February 23, 2024 program to include discussion of city, ballot measures
FEBRUARY 16, 2024 (SAN FRANCISCO) — San Francisco Mayor London Breed returns to The Commonwealth Club World Affairs for a conversation with NBC Bay Area Anchor Raj Mathai about the state of the city, taking stock of the city’s present and looking forward to its future. What can the city do to spur downtown revival? How can it reduce the problems of fentanyl, homelessness, and crime?
She’ll also share her thoughts on ballot measures facing voters in the March elections, including Proposition C (making it easier to convert office properties into housing), Proposition E (expanding the ability of police to pursue suspects), Proposition F (identifying and requiring treatment for drug abuse disorder among people receiving cash assistance).
Breed, elected in 2018, is the city’s 45th mayor and its first Black women mayor. She was born and raised in San Francisco. Before she became mayor, Breed served as a member and president of the city’s Board of Supervisors.
The program begins at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Club's headquarters in downtown San Francisco (110 The Embarcadero).
The program is open to the public, and both in-person and online tickets are available. Tickets and additional information at https://www.commonwealthclub.org/events/2024-02-23/mayor-london-breed-state-san-francisco
